on-line stores

I've been away for a while, so I've forgotten which on-line stores are best to buy from fabric as far as quality, price and speed of delivery. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have done business with Fabric.com, Connecting Threads, and a place in NH called Ann's Fabric and Crafts. Never been disappointed. They are reasonable and fairly swift. My sister just made an order from Missouri Quilt Co.

I love fatquartershop.com It is quality and often has sales that can't be beat. Check out the flash sale on the home page too.

I just am going to submit a fabric order with Fabric Shack. I appreciate their discounted price on a priority envelope which is ALWAYS half price. There is a sale at Hancock of Paducah. PM me if you need the 20% off code. A good suggestion would be to sign up for email notices from the stores you look at and are impressed with.

I love Thousands of Bolts... and they are having a sale right now ... I scored some Moda for under $4.00 per yard.

Fabric Shack has low shipping, a huge selection, and will sell you 1/8 yd, they're the only ones I know who do. I'll look there first if I'm buying fabrics to audition. Most places have a 1/2 yd. minimum. Hawthorne Threads has low shipping and an enjoyable website, specializing in modern fabrics. Shabby Fabrics is great if you will be searching by color. I have found that Fat Quarter Shop has very accurate color representation. I really enjoy The Calico Cottage Quilt Shop, and you earn virtual cash back with each purchase, which you can apply to subsequent orders. I've only had one bad experience shopping for fabric on line (I never received the fabric, and they didn't respond to emails -- can't remember the name of the shop), but I had used PayPal to pay, so they got me a full refund. I prefer using PayPal because you don't have to enter your card information, so I tend to favor websites that offer that payment option. There are so many excellent on-line quilt shops. I usually discover them when googling for specific fabrics.

Thanks for posting about their sale. I just did some serious damage there ;-)

There was another post on this a few days ago so you might look back at those responses. I like fabric.com as they have free shipping on orders over $35, I also like the selection at the Fat quarter shop. A new one I found for great collections and sales is AbbiMays.com. And for cutting edge modern fabric my favorite is an Etsy store called The Meandering Thread.

I live in NH and never heard of Ann's fabric and Crafts. I will have to check it out. I do buy from Bits and pieces in Pelham, NH - they great deals/ I buy on line and have the hubby pick up at the shop on the way home from work.

Hancock's of Paducah is my "Go to" store on line. They have great sales, and right now they are having 20 percent off site wide. They carry only name brand fabric, and move their inventory rather quickly. The shipping is not bad if you order a lot, and arrives rather quickly.

I don't buy a lot online as I really like to see and feel the fabric. Colors vary online and I like to feel the thickness of the fabric. Yesterday my husband and I went to Intercourse, PA and Oley, pa. Old Country Store has reopened and I have loved that store in the past. It was just as great yesterday. Their online store should be reopened soon. I have ordered from them in the past and they were good. I also went to Zook's in Intercourse, PA and they also have an online store. 3rd store was Ladyfingers in Oley. The owner is doing a Crafty class, Double wedding ring, and it is on display and beautiful. All these places were neat, organized, and have a wonderful assortment of fabrics and terrific prices. We had a wonderful day. I must say I suggested (ha, ha) that my husband go to the train store and museum in Strasburg while I was in Intercourse!
