Lining blocks

Whenever I had a white or very light fabric, I noticed how the batting was not enough to stop the backing fabric from showing through. I have taken to putting a lining fabric behind the top of the quilt which stops the problem. Does anyone else line their quilts or their blocks with lining to correct the problem?

I use a white batting like warm and white or quilters dream - and those seem to be thick and/or dense enough to prevent show-through.

I haven't seen this problem so far. Were you using a very thin batting? I would probably go to a heavier batting or use a double layer of batting.

I have only had that problem once when I used polyester batting. Since switching to to warm and white Cotton batting, I have not had this issue.

I have not had any problems with Hobbs 80/20 letting the backing show through. I do use good quality or white on white for blocks that are predominately white.

Switching to a different batting would be an easier way to solve the problem.
