rhondals, thank you for sharing this! yes, that could take 5-10 mins only and they're so cute especially with their scrappy nature and applique for me is easier and faster and lots more fun sometimes than lots of piecing. you can add more unique touches that way. i can see how you could easily vary them up some by moving the door or putting in a window or chimney but still have it be the same size. these are such fun!

<sigh> I've been reading this thread and trying my best, to resist those little houses. It was all in vain, as I just ordered some background fabric, from TOB. In my defense, I was honestly looking for something totally unrelated but then saw the perfect background and remembered these houses, y'all have been sharing. Next thing I knew, I was hitting the 'submit order' button, with five extra yards of fabric in my cart. :p :sew:

So I thought about putting selvage ends for little addresses on little mail boxes...this can be ongoing, cause I want to make Under The Stars.

There is a site called "GOURMET QUILTER". She has an easy and adorable little house pattern on UTUBE.

I can honestly say the tutorial I posted is a very good one. I managed to finish off a house block. She gives very good detail to get the block to work. I did the 12 inch one, if anyone tries it 1/4 inch has to be added to the outside of all the units.

This has other background colors.
I couldn't find the little red bird that was similar that quilter68 posted.

I got the fabric answer from the website where the quilt (with trees and houses) came from.

"It was from Maywood Studio art unfortunately, is no longer available --or we would order tons more of it!"

That is pretty fabric!
