I know your pain. I made a whole baby quilt wrong a couple of years ago. Hated it, took out every seam and started over. Mine was easier as it was cotton. I found it pretty quick with one of those seam rippers that look like a small dog trimmer. Worked pretty good. But of course...probably only on smooth material. You will be happy when it is apart!!!

QUOTE=UncleGravy;7635484]You are an awesome gramma!

I may be in the minority, but I try and tell myself, "Sewn seams permanent" - sounds funnier in my head. It is a very rare day when I take the time to try to even find a seam ripper. I would rather try and live with the mistake or make it work somehow.[/QUOTE]

My kind of sewing!!!, Uncle Gravy. You keep up the good work. Unfortunately I have a little devil in my brain that just keeps on saying "you know you got to fix it".

I lived 500 miles from my kids when I made my GD a Sunbonnet Sue quilt. Then her parents bought a larger bed than planned. I took it home to enlarge. GD was 3 at the time, when making her bed one day she asked her mom, "Am I ever going to get back the quilt with the dolls on it?"

I love my battery mustache trimmer for removing seams...use it whenever I can rather than seam ripper. If I have to rip more than an inch I grab the trimmer. Got the idea here on the QB... Cheaper than the trimmers sold by quilt shops and catalogs.

That's me.

You are one awesome grandma with a great sense of humor. I can just imagine a giant with dandruff shedding everywhere. LOL
