LOF strips

What is the best way to cut strips from the length of Fabric? I have 1.5 yds of fabric that I want to cut into strips length wise but I'm not sure how to accurately do this. If I can figure this out, I can have borders that are not pieced.

You can rip it, but a lot of people have a problem with this.
Get your longest ruler, and just move it down the fabric lining it up with the selvedge. I would add an inch to your measurement, so if you needed a 4.5 inch strip, then cut a 5.5 inch strip. Then recut the strip to remove the selvedge along with the excess

You can do it as PaperPrincess says, I've also had success with folding the fabric, but you have to be VERY CAREFUL to keep all your folded edges square and straight. Otherwise you end up with V-shaped cuts.

Thanks, I ended up squaring up each end of the fabric then refolding the fabric across the wof, aligning the selvedges, then cutting thru just 2 layers and sliding the ruler along as needed. Worked!
