Log Cabin Cross quilt

Anyone have tips for making 1 of these? I have had someone ask if I would do a king size. I'm trying to come up with a ballpark cost for her & am thinking $1200+ for all supplies, my work & long arm quilting.
I think that price will scare her off but also don't do cheap.

To me a Log Cabin is a Log Cabin. It just depends on how you place the blocks (usually).
I think your price is great. I wouldn't go cheap either!

I agree with Susie that you can make log cabin blocks and the arrangement will make the cross. I usually get my graph paper out and draw it up first and the price is a very fair price considering all that you are doing. good luck to you

I would probably make the cross to fit the top of the bed and then design a border with the rest of the blocks, that didn't take away from the cross itself.

Did you check out the other posts on this forum that might give you an idea? These came up in search. https://www.quiltingboard.com/search...rchid=14166098

Hmmm. you are right.... wonder how that happened, sorry.... No time right now to figure it out though.

Whoa. I wouldn't do a king for any less than $1200. That's a lot of work!! A lot of time. A lot of fabric. Is it something you want to do? Whatever you charge, word will get out. Make sure you value your work highly or no one else will.

I have checked the other threads & they are for wall hangings. I did find a pattern on Crafty that went from wall hanging to twin. Then found a queen on Etsy. Now most of the math will be handled. I am not thrilled to do a King sz.
& hope she will decide on a wall hanging. Thank you for your tips.

Log Cabin Cross update

Saved by the price. I wasn't excited about making a King size but did find a couple of patterns, 1 was queen size. Gave the woman that asked for it the price of $1200. Gave the amount of fabric at $12-13 per yard & the cost of long arm quilting starting at $260. The next day a text came saying that was more than she thought it would be & couldn't afford it right now since they are building but Thank you.
