Does anyone have a pattern and or instructions for doing the Logcabin Chicken pincushion?

Nangars a member asked me to find your thread after seeing my avatar. I was given a sheet to make mine, but it wasn't very clear, I want to make a smaller one soon as a pin cushion and found a tutorial on quilters TV, i've not watched it through so if it's not very clear I can type out the one I have for the doorstop and you can just reduce the size, just pm me.

It gave me the same warning but I did go on there and it was okay. The video was great.

I wondered where she got the small templetes. That were 3" x 1".

Doreen Speckmann's Norwegian Chicken Pincushion Pattern is the original. I have a mixed up brain when it comes to reading how to do something. I have to see it done. The online videos are a must for me. Usually I'll take a written pattern to my best quilt buddy and say can you figure this out and show me? A friend made me a couple of the Chick's (baby pincushions) I love them, not so much as a pincushion, but something to sit by my sewing machine to look at.

I am not a person that doesn't likes to works with little pieces, but for the people that do that is great.

I love making these chickens. It's a great way to use up little scraps. Whenever I'm cutting for a quilt, if the fabric looks chickenish, I cut a few 1" strips of it and put it in my Chicken Scraps tin. Then just trim strips to size whenever I get into Chicken mode.
I don't used them for pincushions either--I give them away to special friends (or my daughter's friends--it's the only thing she ever asks me to make anymore) I usually make about 1 doz. at a time.

That is a great idea. I looked at the video, and the lady seemed to have her own templetes, in 1" sizes. We have a plastic place out here but the plastic is super expensive to have something like that made. I guess you could just use a small 4 x 4 inch ruler that would also work.
