I have inherited an old Lone Star quilt top that measures 60 inches wide. The patches in the ring at the base of the star points has stretched so it is wrinkled when laid flat. I would like to applique the top to new fabric in order to preserve the top and display it in my home. Should I leave the wrinkles in or try to reshape the stretched patches?

My first thought would be to do what is needed to let it lay flat. If you can show us a photo and we could possible offer some better suggestions. Welcome to the board from Louisiana.

You should be able to block it back into shape. Take a look at Sharon Schamber's method:

It looks like magic on the video but it really works. Don't ask how I know. :-D

I just looked at the video and at the six minute point it stops. All I saw was pinning. Where's the rest of it? Is there a part 2?

There is a part 2. It usually comes up as one of the options after part 1 has finished. Just do a search on Sharon Schamber or on the name of the part 1 video; you should find it.
