thanks for the compliments. My friend did not offer to help pick...I did not ask...but she did tell me how to "fix" the problem. No hard feelings towards her since I did the actual quilting.

The main thing is that the quilt is beautiful. While you are picking, remember we are all with you in spirit. A virtual un-sewing bee.

LOL, thanks for the virtual support. We began the picking last night and it is going pretty quickly. (picking sounds so much nicer than ripping, :))

Thanks for the compliment on the quilt, it was a scrappy and those are not easy for me, but once it was together we (dd & i) thought it turned out great!

I am a long arm Gammill learner and I have encountered this problem and we found that the bobbin was not in the casing properly. I had to unquilt a couple of times before we decided to to come up with the following:
Now we are making a sample of quilting on the side of the quilt, meaning on the excess of material that we use to clamp, using a piece of material similar to the quilt top, and it is easy to check with a mirror or by folding the edge up to check it up. We do this every time that we change the bobbin and before we start quilting on the real thing.
You could also go to the back of the machine and feel the stitches with your hands underneath before you proceed with more quilting.
It seems to work for us. Your quilt is very nice, the quality of quilting should go along with the quality of the top. Good luck and have a good party.

Thanks for the idea. I am not sure if my friend does any kind of checking before she starts quilting...unfortunately for me! The thing is she has had problems before so one would think she would be on the look out for it!!!

Oh well, we have picked it all out now, and Monday I am off to another friends house to have it redone...yipee!!!!

I always shine my little flashlight under mine & bend down to check it out. I tried the mirrors but I can't see it good enough with my eyes! LOL I need lots of light to see really well. ( something as small as stitches )
