I've had my long arm for a couple of months. My free motion designs are pretty good, but I can't stay on a line to save my life, either re-stitching on the same line, following a design printed on the fabric, or something I've marked. I know that micro handles are available for my machine (Tin Lizzie). Does anyone have them? Do you feel that your control is better?
Thanks for any info you can provide. Nancy |
I'd like to know more about them too!

I also have a lizzie, and yes I purchased the micro handles, but I just couldn't get comfortable with them...I guess I just need to practice more...I'm haven't done much free hand quilting so that could be the problem also. It just felt that I had more blind spots with the handles...but if you already do alot of freehand, then I think that you would probably benefit from them...

I have micro handles on my Innova and I use them all the time. They do give me more control.

I plan on getting them for my Avante along with the extended base for ruler work.

I have micro handles for my Gammill Optimum and I love them for doing my free hand quilting. They give you alot more control for doing your free hand plus your hands can rest gently on your quilt top as you are guiding your machine adding extra control. They are super great if you are doing tiny little designs. Plus it seems to be easier on my shoulders in this more natural positon.
Good luck, sherryl candlequilter |
I have them on my APQS and love them! I also had them for my HQ16 when I had it.

You might try contacting Leslie and Curt at Finishing Touches....they are making some really great LA products, including micro handles for machines. Prices are reasonable. Customer service is great too.

http://finishingtouchesquiltingstudio.com/default.aspx Christine I've never heard of Micro Handles before, so I went and checked out the video, very neat stuff, I might have to look into buying myself a set of them when and if I ever get better at quilting on my Little Gracie Quilt frame. |
