Long arm Needles

Does anyone know if any company makes a side threading needle for long arm quilting machines?

Welcome to the board. Not that I am aware of but I am not completely familiar with every longarm brand. You may wish to contact your longarm manufacturer to ask if your machine will even be able to make a stitch if the needle is threaded side to side.

Welcome from western NY and happy quilting :)

If your machine uses side threaded needles the dealer/ manufacturer should carry the needles for it.

I'm confused by this question. The longarm needles that I use are round. I could insert them with the point to the side, but the machine would not sew this way.

Your needle has to face away from the hook, so the hook can pick up the thread from the back of the needle.

Wait.... Are you talking about the needle with the slit on the side, so you just slide the thread along the side and it goes in? It's called a "Handicap" or "Quick Threading" needle. I've never seen one for a longarm, and just checked my sources, and couldn't find one. Longarms may move too fast for that type of needle.

what brand of long arm do you have? I've never heard of one that threaded sideways. But the manufacturer should be able to help.

Ditto to the other responses but I just wanted to say Welcome to the board and good luck with your hunt.
