I found a pattern on Joann.com for a quilt. It looks like a very easy quilt to make but I'm wondering if it will work on my long arm. You make a front and back that match, then you lay out the batting, then the back face up, then the top face down. Then you sew around the edges leaving an opening and turn it inside out (or rightside out I guess) and close the opening. If I do this can I then load it onto my long arm to quilt it?

That would mean no binding. :D

This should work. It's almost like turning a quilt in the machine to do a
border in one direction. Or you may have to attatch a leader to the top and bottom to pin to your longarm leads to be able to quilt up to the edge
of the quilt.

Just a silly question... how are you supposed to turn it if it is quilted?

So you don't think it would pucker when I get to the end?

You do the quilting AFTER you turn it.

Hi, just been reading your post and for what its worth, I think maybe to leave the bottom open and do your quilting from the other end in the machine, so that if it moved, like sometimes it does you could at least do something about it. Does that make sense???? You could put on a border afterwards, just means you have to put it a piece of batting and fold over and sew.

What do you all think. Or should I just keep my mouth shut :lol: :lol: :lol:

I was kind of thinking that too. When I get that far, I will let you all know how it turns out.

I just saw a table runner with the same directions and i wondered the same thing. I would be curious to know how it works for you, before i try one on my longarm.
