I am looking to purchase a long arm quilting setup. I have looked at the Tin Lizzie 18 and really liked it.
I would like some input from members that have machines and what they think is important, what they don't like and any other information that they would like to share. This machine will only be used to quilt my and my daughters quilts. |
Welcome to the board from Southern California!!!!
I would love one myself, some day!!! |
There have been various discussions here on this subject.
Basically: - what can you afford - or do you want to spend on it? - how much space do you have available? - and can you 'bond' to the machine? I have a HandiQuilter and love it. ali |
a long-arm purchase is a large investment...you should do alot of research and try out every machine you can locate and try before making such a decision. my machine may not be the right machine for you. just like our regular sewing machines they all have their own....personalities...and so do we...
i know a lady who bought the same machine as i have...she constantly had problems- i went over and tried to help her a number of times...in the 5 years she had the machine she only managed to quilt 3 quilts on it- she hated everything about it and finally sold it (dirt cheap) out of frustration-just wanting it out of her way. it is best to be happy with the machine before putting out thousands of dollars on something you wind up HATING |
I thought I wanted one until I actually loaded a quilt on one and quilted it. I didn't care for it as much as I thought I would have.
