I would like your opinions on the various long arm machines that are available..........what are the pro's and con's concerning the different manufactures. I know they are costly, but I dream of owning one someday. I'd really just like to rent one for 90 days, learn how to use it, and get my quilt tops done. Like I said, I'm dreaming.

I didn't know they could be rented.

I have heard of some quilt shops teaching you how to use their longarm and you could rent time and quilt your own quilts. Is this what you mean by renting one?

Where do you live. I have professional free hander- High speed Flat-bed single needle lock stitcher machine.
My sister moved and left her machine with me.
I live in NC
Just a thought!!!!!

I live near Columbus, Ohio and one of our quilt shops which also sells quilting machines offers classes and you can rent time on their machines..$15 /hour or 6 hours for $75. Of course they insist you take a class on the use of the machine first. I don't know where you're at or how close you are to someplace that might offer this type of service, but it seems like a good way to try before you buy (invest!!), both the machine and your determination!!

There actually are some quilt places that will rent time on their machines but you'd have to take thier class on how to use it first. Check with dealers of several brands and see if any are near you.

Like I said.........I was just dreaming about renting a long arm machine. Wouldn't it be nice if you could call and have one delivered and set up in your home for a few months without investing thousands of dollars first!
