If you have the lollypop that comes with the baileys your ready to do ruler work. Call Quilters rule and they will ask what type of machine you have, and make the decision for you on the thickness of rulers. I've ordered from them and I've a Baileys. You can get a ruler foot here http://www.finishingtouchesquiltings...s/show/3134566 If you order a foot from Finsishing touches you'll need to make an adjustment, when you get it call and Curt will walk you through the process.
Chuck sells a ruler foot, it may come with the Bailey17. http://www.baileyssewingcenter.com/bahoqupro17p.html this is a link to the Baileys site if you scroll down you'll see the ruler foot that chuck sells.

Heres a link for a forum about baileys http://bhqbaileyhomequilter.proboards.com/

Theres also a Yahoo group, both groups are very helpful but the one on yahoo is older and has more members. Bother groups are moderated by the same people.

The ruler foot can be used as a panto foot. I never take mine off. If you have anymore questions feel free to pm me.

#1 piecemaker and to original poster.........go to www.youtube.com and do a search for "quilting" or "longarm". There's a lot of videos. Some of selling their rulers. You can see how they use them, etc. And the rulers DO need to be 1/4" thick to keep the hopping foot from coming down on top of the ruler.

Ok ladies - beginners question. I have the ruler base (lolipop) that goes on my bailey 15" and the ruler foot that came with the multi-foot that Chuck sells installed. When I put my rulers up against the foot with the pressure foot in the down position, the bar on the left side hits the ruler. Is there a trick to using the rulers? Do you have to adjust the height of the pressure foot somehow or leave it up? I read in another post that you have to replace the bar with a longer one. Has anyone else had this problem? Any input much appreciated.
