I've done quilting where the back sags a little on one side and figured the customer didn't have the back quite square but everything quilted out nicely so I say-go ahead and do it.

It sounds like it's not enough to worry about. I'll often tighten the sagging section by twisting the rolled part of the quilt around the bar.

I always wish that backing fabrics were torn, that's the only time I like fabric being torn, but you are ensured of a square backing that way and the rolling back and forth is what pulls any "out of bias" from being on the bolt straight. Sort of like how we used to do in sewing class before we laid the pattern out :).

Well what I did, put the clamps on and it picked up some of the slack and then tucked a bit of batting in to pick the rest of the slack up...hummm, one must remember before you roll to take out the batting :oops: , but all is fine and it seems to be quilting fine...will post pictures of it when I'm done...oh yes, I didn't pick a very good pantograph as it has lots of hills and valleys and well this quilt had lots of seams...but it looks to be fine.....thanks everyone for your help...greatly appreciated. :) :thumbup:
