Do any of you ever sit on a stool when quilting, or do you stand all the time?

I sit, but my frame is low :) I have an office chair with casters, can roll right down the frame.

i have a sewing chair that goes from a sit and sew position when i'm piecing to a bar stool height for when i'm frame quilting.

I stand. I can't sit, I get too antsy. :). But I stand all the time at work, too.

I had a special table made so there is no strain what so ever on my arms or back. It is the right height for me alone to lift my hands just bennding at the elbow and no more. Such a difference from the normal 'bought' solutions. It's now pretty much like walking around with a couple of fingers on the Q M ..:) So find a husband, brother or cousin who likes a project.........

I sit on a rolling secretary's chair, it also raises and lowers.

When I bought my LA I had the hydraulic lift put on it so that I can raise or lower my whole table plus I bought the special chair for it. However when I am doing a pantograph I am always standing because I move so quickly. My chair would be fine if I had hardwood floors in my quilting room but it is carpeted so I don't use the chair then. If I am doing very slow custom quilting that takes alot of time and not alot of movement I use my chair. My chair doesn't get used alot so I would say that I am standing probably 90% of the time that I am quilting.

A hydraulic lift is one I hadn't thot of----good idea!

I have the hydraulics on mine too so we could sit and do the longarming. But I stand all the time because I move around so much while longarming. Plus when the computer is doing the work I don't stand right there all the time - I go quilt or do paper work and designing.
I also have a carpet/mat to help with the leg strain.

I stand all the time. I'm not sure I could work as well sitting.
