longarm quilting

I am quilting a quilt now I did one row stupid me did not check stitches it is a mess. So adjusted the tension and increased the speed it is much better but not perfect. I am using same color of thread on top and bottom it is a medium green the backing is just a plain lighter green sheet. What I am wondering if I change the bottom color to one not so noticeable would that help. I usually don't use plain backing but this is what I had.
I do pantograph quilting hand quided.

I use different colors top and bottom all the time. some people advise against it, but I am forced into it because I use pre wound bobbins that come in limited colors. if your tension is really off, then you have a greater chance of seeing the "pokies" but if they are close enough, then give it a try!

Sometimes it's worthwhile to take the time to sort out the tension, so you know what to do when it's more important to have it better. I found that out myself....

The last quilt I just did had white thread on the top and pink on the bottom. Sometime it just different shades because of the material used. I never heard that you weren't suppose to use two different colors.

thanks for the help I have changed out the bobbin thread and very happy with it. It is hard to get tension right on my machine does not have computerised or even stitch regulator. Guess I am the stitch regulator. Some days it is easier than others.
