Longarm Ruler Suggestions
I am ready to add to my ruler collection for my longarm ruler work. I currently have straight, scalloped and the versa tool. What should I get next? Right now I'm still learning but already know that I enjoy this and will need more of a selection. Thanks!

I would suggest a nice curved cross hatch ruler. I have Ronda's Double "S" med. and Ronda's Cresent moon

A basic set of circles or ovals can be used in many ways.

Following this with interest. I get overwhelmed looking at the rulers wondering which one(s) will give me the most bang for my buck. (oh if they were ONLY a buck!) :)

Here's the link: https://www.lisahcalle.com/ Lisa Calle developed these rulers, and there are several different ones. Personally I have 3 of the ProLine and 3 of the ProCurve rulers, and BOTH of her DVD's. She is an awesome teacher, and very personable! Jamie Wallen has some useful rulers as well, several of the ladies in my longarm group love his rulers. You can find them at www.quiltersapothecary.com You need to think about what you're going to do with them - cross hatch, curves, etc - to help you decide. |
not totally familiar with your Versa Tool, but I like having a smaller circle to use for continuous curves, also an applique tool--several out there with different shapes so I'd recommend trying some out at a show to see which fits your hands best. I found Rhonda's S curve rulers harder to use, so sold mine and replaced with DeLoa Jone's curved cross hatching. I also like her circle ruler--prevents the flatness on one side that sometimes happen when you quilt around the side; and I've recently fallen in love with Dusty Farrell's Chubbie ruler--one side is flat, the other curved.
