So happy... My wonder cut ruler came today... excited to master using it, and finding all the quilts I can make with it. Do you have one? What do you suggest I try first?

Anything with HST just determan finished size and go for it! You will love it! I have one and use it all the time! Taught my 9yr old GD and she took to it like a duck to water. LOL Try pinwheels just stich 2 seams, make 5 cuts and put your block together! So easy and all blocks are same size! Enjoy!!!!

Looks cool! Is that the new one from Debbie Tucker? I saw her demonstrating one at Vermont Quilt Fest in July.

Very interested in the reviews. I've not seen or heard of this ruler.

I have never heard of this ruler, I cant to hear how it works.

I've had one for a long time. It's a great all in one ruler for making a lot of hsts fast and accurate. Someone will post the bias is a problem but if you starch the fabric a little stiff the bias is no problem at all, at least not for me. There is a lot of info on the website and patterns: http://www.wondercutruler.com/

looks neat-1st time I have seen this one.

I love it and have never had a bias problem. I love it for The Carpenter Star quilt. Works for any pattern using the HST.

I saw this ruler at a quilt show - one of the women demonstrated it for me after she saw my wide eyed look! I have this on my "fill my stocking" list.

Please let me know what is the name of the other ruler at the top of your mat? Thanks for sharing. Will look into purchasing this ruler. Went on the link but couldn't tell where to purchase. Where did you get yours? BrendaK

I think I have this ruler someplace and had forgotten about it. I guess I should dig it up and give a try again. I'll need to find the instructions again too.

The top ruler is the O'Lipfa Lip Edge ruler. I have the 4" x 36" one. Walmart has this size for $16. Olfa use to make them but Dritz is the manufacturer now. I guess Dritz bought out Olfa? If your Walmart doesn't have them, they can be ordered by the sewing/craft fabric manager.

The Wonder Cut ruler has been around at least since 2010. Here's a video. I have one but haven't used it yet:

I may have to get this one.

Here's a pattern that I have used. http://quiltbug.com/PDF/Aurora-Borealis.pdf It was great practice for using the Wondercut ruler and I also used the quilt to practice my machine quilting feathers. Sorry I don't have a picture of my finished quilt. I gave it away.

I like both of the rulers in your photo. I cut lots of triangles, so the Wonder Cut ruler is great to have.

Pardon my ignorance, but what are HSTs? Can someone post a tutorial for using this type of ruler? knitpurlgrrl

I had a hard time with the abbreviations, too. You'll get used to it. Here's what I posted above:
