Does anyone have, or know where I can get, a pattern for a black lab? The one at Four Twin Sisters is not what I'm looking for. I found one at Quilt Blocks Galore that is kind of what I'm looking for, but it's only 9" and I'm afraid if I enlarge it, the areas will be too large and the little amount of detail will be lost.
I would like something in the 20x20 size range. A little bigger or smaller won't matter - I want to use it as a center for a full size quilt.
Thanks
Carol B

Are you looking for a pattern for a pieced block?

Or for a pillow top type piece of fabric?

Try Silver Linings, she has all the dog breeds and other kinds of animals.

I have a couple of patterns. Two of them are from Silver Linings One pattern is for 2 8x10 blocks, http://www.silverliningsoriginals.com
The other is an 8" block
The third pattern is from Malec Designs http://www.malec-designs.com This has 2 dogs on it, a yellow and a black and it is 11x17"
If you need something bigger you may just have to enlarge the patterns
I have 3 labs. Two that are white and one black.

I'm looking for a pieced block that will be used as the center block of a full size quilt. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to put around it, but they love their black lab Boomer.

I hate to enlarge patterns too much as I'm afraid the patches will be too big to give any detail (does that make sense?)

I like the one at silver linings and the one at Quilt Blocks Galore. Might have to use something like 4 blocks in the middle instead of one larger one.

I have a quick fix if you happen to have a projector. In art we would take a picture of the person or animal and project it on the paper on the wall, the size we wanted it to be...then we would trace it.

Take a pic of you dog, project on the paper on the wall and trace his shape and his markings...it will be beautiful...don't have a projector...ask a friend lol.

When I make Airedale quilts,

I ask a friend, who is an artist and also an Airedale nut, to draw coloring book type pictures for me. I find they are the easiest thing for me to work with. I tell her that I want the simplest sketch possible. Perhaps you can find someone to draw the labs for you. Good luck.
