I am going to make my sister a quilt and know that she would love a Celtic design. Can anyone recommend a pattern, place to get the pattern or design?

Check out Karen Comb's site.

I like Beth Ann Williams Celtic Quilts. I don't know if you can get her patterns on line though. I am lucky to have her book.

Does anyone know if all the Celtic designs require applique or if some are pieced?
|
These ones are pieced. She also has others that you can buy as just single patterns. I have found her very helpful and easy to deal with.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions. I have looked at books by both Beth Ann Williams and Gail Lawther however I have not purchased them as I can't really tell what information is in them. Can you please let me know if they have quilt instructions or just instructions for celtic designs?

This is the official website for BEth Ann Williams. Her book 'Celtic Quilts' has patterns for quilts in it. Gail's books have designs which can be used for quilts or embellishment on other cloth articles, bags, pillows, clothing etc. I discovered celtic quilting while on holiday in the USA and borrowed the books from the library. Maybe this could be your first option before buying the books. |
Update - This is the quilt forum link to all the questions about Celtic Quilts. Worth checking out.
