I recently bought a piece of border fabric by Michael Miller, the selvedge says "Lahini Lobsters". Have checked quiltshops.com, the fabshophop search function, e-bay, and google. Anybody know how old this line is or what else might have been in the line? I want to do one of those table runners designed specifically for border stripe fabrics for my nephew who lives in Hawaiia (Navy guy).

Oh too bad, I have some red lobster on black & white stripe, but obviously not the same as nothing on the selvedge...
WHEW.... what a huge assortment of designs from Michael Miller...but nothing comes up with that at all! Would be wonderful if one of our members actually had some in their stash! |

The link above only shows a picture, no fabric for sale. That is a very hard webstore to find anything. I've tried using it before and just gave up.

Their website is usually a mess but if you call them it is easier. Also, ask them for a discount because of "your inconvenience." |
Yes, that is the fabric I have. It is so cute. It must be an older fabric 'cause even when I go to the Michael Miller website I can't find it. There are certainly enough colors in it that I can find something, I was just hoping I might find a coordinating fabric. Thanks for the effort.

if you go back to the michael miller site- there is a customer service- contact us- link- when i was in search of a fabric that was almost 10 years old i contacted them- they were wonderful and even sent me the names of a couple shops that actually still had the fabric.... when all else fails try going to the source and just asking-
there is also a fabric search site- you can scan the fabric send it to them and they put out the feelers---a great way to locate fabrics! i (think) there is a posting here on the fabric search site. |
