Looking For A Decent Walking Foot

Walking feet just don't last long around my house. The ones that you buy today, just don't hold up. They usually start failing around half way through a quilt...the one that you're scrambling to get done for someone's birthday next week. Has anyone found a good walking foot for a slanted needle machine?

I'm guessing that your slant needle machine is a Singer of some kind? Have you tried Sewing Parts on Line? They carry two different slant needle walking feet, one is around $14 and the other is about $35 plus shipping of course. Good luck finsing one for your machine.

Yes, I have a Singer 403A. I'll have a look over there. Thanks for the tip. :)

I haven't had time to look for a new walking foot yet, but I'm on the hunt. The last 2 that I bought wore out quickly. It seems like the feet start to lose their grip as they age and then I start to get various stitch lengths and the dreaded puckers. My last two quilts have lots of puckers...It's my "pucker phase." Perhaps I need to invest in a higher priced foot.
