Back to quilting after years of being 'too busy.' Looking for a logCabin pattern in more of a diamond shape if anybody knows of one. Thanks

Eleanor Burns at Quilt in a Day has one. I have this one, her directions are always clear, easy to follow. And she doesn't gouge you for shipping, patterns are real cheap for shipping.

I found the diamond log cabin pattern. It is a paper pieced pattern. I will pm you my email address.

Can't thank you enough. Paperpieced block sounds perfect!
BTW, we're new KY residents!

Wow, Thank you very much! I've never seen that sight, and the quilt on the link you sent is very close to what i'd like. So very thoughtful of you to respond. Thank you.

I say wow to but I don't think I can quilt that well. I love log cabin tho, would love to try something like that, paper piecing is my new thing. Thanks for showing all those sites.

After looking closely at the Amish quilt pictures in the link. Here are what I believe to be the correct block measurements:

1. The diamond is 2.5 inches per side finished. Cut at 3 inches to include the seam allowances. These could potentially be cut from 3 inch strips.
2. The lighter fabrics are .5 inch finished strips. You would cut them at 1 inch to include the seam allowance.
3. The darker fabrics are 1 inch finished strips. You would cut them at 1.5 inches to include the seam allowances.
4. There are 6 rows of dark strips on 2 adjacent sides. You would start and finish each block with the dark strips.
5. There are 5 rows of light strips on the other 2 adjacent sides.
6. You will need a total of 30 blocks to recreate this quilt.

For block placement, refer to the pictures in the link.

I hope this helps.

There's a diamond log cabin table topper pattern in the Nov/Dec 2010 Fons & Porter's Love of Quilting mag...

Marianne Fons just did a demo of a diamond log cabin on the show. It's up on their website right now. It's also in the new Love of Quilting magazine.
