looking for duck, heron or shore bird paper piecing patterns

hi!

i am working on the across the pond pattern for a friend, but i don't really like the bees, so i'm going to sub in some butterflies.

one of the moms is an AVID birder. i would love to include a bird or two as well. i was thinking for scale a great blue heron in the centre would be amazing, but then when i asked what her favorite birds are she sent a bunch of ducks and shore birds, like pipers!

do you have any suggestions for good books, places to find bird patterns or how to draft paper piecing blocks yourself?

thanks a lot!
