looking for an elephant quilt block pattern

I'm about to become a great-great aunt and the new little niece's baby room will be brown and pink with elephants. I have one paper pieced pattern of an elephant head but it doesn't really look much like an elephant. So, do any of you know where I could find a free pattern for an elephant bock?

Here's one:

Those are both adorable.... Thanks, Prism99.

A place to look may be in a coloring book. Or you could try googling elephant applique and see if any of the results lead you to a free link.

Go to MH Designs website ... I was just on there last night and they have a baby quilt with baby elephants in pastels walking around the quilt. It was adorable!

This has an elephant pinwheel about half way down the page.

Thanks, Sam..... I've done this before and made some really nice blocks with applique. I found a couple I could use for this quilt..... just have to decide exactly how I want this quilt to turn out.

It took me awhile to find the one you're talking about. It's really cute. Thanks.

This one is really cute, too. Thanks..... Now it's a matter of deciding how to combine all these ideas and come up with one. I think this is the hardest part of quilting!!

I did one recently- I got some lovely elephant fabric Valori Wells by freespirit I think its called karaveck http://www.fabric.com/ProductDetail....b-f13c90dccfe1 and I appliqued the elephants as they were quite big- they fit onto a 12" block

They have a cute applique one here: www.victorianaquiltdesign.com. Click on pattern page, then go to past patterns & scroll down until you find it. It also has a lion, giraffe & a hippo. If all else fails you could get a coloring page online & do an applique that way. Anyway you go, I'm sure it will be cute. Happy hunting & sewing Great Auntie!! Congratulations.

My usual approach is to go to coloring pages, download a picture then applique it.
