Looking for a fabric please.......

I am looking for a fabric similar to the photo below. It doesn't have to be exact. The main criteria is color: Hunter green background, country red and cream. In a similar scale as shown.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This reminds me a lot of an original Concord Mills print from the 1970s. Over the years it was reprinted in many colorways and was so popular that it literally saved the mill from financial woes.

I don't know that your fabric is the same, but is very similar. If it can still be found, you'd find it at the chain fabric stores or walmart, not at your LQS.

Jan,

I've looked at Joanne's and Hancock's so far. I have to drag hubby with me so haven't gotten to a LQS yet. I'll try looking at Walmart next time I'm there.

FYI These are old, old, old kitchen curtains that sorely need replacement. I'm still in love with the colorway so want to replace the old with new and add matching placements.

Again, I'm not looking for an exact pattern match, just similar colors.

This might be too dark:

Prism99,

Very, very close! As you said, might be a little dark but it is the closest I've seen so far.

Have you looked on fabric.com?
They have a big selection of fabrics.
Do you need a lot of yardage?

I am not used to shopping fabric online so any suggestions are greatly appreciated! :)

Yardage: Oh, I'm guessing 2-3 yards would be plenty.

I found this on Etsy. Might be too light?

I thought I had some, but when I found it, the background was brownish and not green. Sorry, if i had some would send it to you.

I thank everyone for help in my search!

Please continue.......... it is appreciated!

My kitchen/dining room and living room are all the 'open concept' to one another so colors in those rooms are hunter green/burgundy/cream.

Right now, the search for fabric is for the kitchen.

Here are a couple references to the Concord Fabric I mentioned. http://www.etsy.com/listing/10939688...w_type=gallery

Perhaps you can find enough in either of these places. Good luck.:)

No clue. I like those colors also. Sounds like you can find it or close.

If you have a Wal-mart with fabrics, they had one almost like that one.

Just be aware that if you use cotton quilting fabric for curtains in a window where the sun comes in, you will get a lot of fading of the fabric. It would be best to look for home dec fabric, as it is treated to be UV resistant. Actually, the room doesn't have to even get direct sun, but bright light. The fibers will also weaken over time from the UV attacking it.

Pm me your email. I think I have it. Thanks

There is a LQS in Princeton,Ll that specializes in vintage fabrics. The name of the shop is Old Times. I know that they have vintage fabrics from the late 60's thur the late 90's. Try sending a picture there along with your name and address. they have over 6700 bolts of vintage fabrics and I know they have a big section of Concord. I'm not sure what the e-mail is but I think it is [email protected]. the phone number is 815-872-9841 Good Luck!

I have some Thomas Kincaid fabric in those colors that I got at Walmart a few years ago and I never used that has those same colors in it. It has a hunter green background, very small groups of flowers in all colors including red and cream. I love the fabric> thought it would make a great focus fabric when I bought it. It was in the bargain bin when I got it for a $1 a yard so they may not have it any more. If I can figure out how to attach a picture I do that in a few minutes.

Shari, I'm no help, but I can see why you like those colors -- very pretty! Good luck with your search and let us know what you find!

CajunQuilter2 10-18-2012 05:37 AM

I think I just might have some of this. I am in Ga. right now but headed home today. I will look and let you know.

judys 10-18-2012 08:49 AM

Let me look this afternoon. I think I may have that fabric. I don't know how much there is. How much do you need?

Mom3 10-18-2012 09:27 AM

Believe it or not, a list member has found the exact floral pattern in their stash!

I think I will have enough from this list member but if I need more I will know where to look!

All of you are the greatest! I NEVER thought I could match this print considering how old I think it is.

Great for you. I think I have it too, but I am 70 miles away from stash. Let me know if you have enough and I'll check when I get home in a couple of days.

depends on just how much you need.

LadyElisabeth 10-18-2012 10:58 AM

It looks like the fabric might be VIP from Cranston Mills, yes, from the 70's or 80's. Where has the time gone?

QandE2010 10-19-2012 02:56 PM

I just have to weigh in and express my amazement and appreciation for everyone on this board. It is so heartwarming to see such truly good people. Thank you all.
