looking foe old lace and linen
OK Ladies and Gents. Does anyone know where I can purchase or find old lace and linen? I am looking for anything 2" or larger. Planning on tea dying them. I have decided to try post cards and or small wall hangings. Getting burned out on sweatshirt jackets. I do have several quilts I am in the process of making.lol Don't we all. Looking for small things that I can turn loose my artsie brain. And most of my friends like the civil war area and depression area feel. Me....the brighter the better. Looking to make a few for Christmas gifts. I have a jar of old buttons I plan on using. Any help in locating said items will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

check out op-shops and garage sales
|
try Shop Goodwill online. Lot of textiles of all kinds sometimes.

Flea Markets are a great place to look too, I just found some hand made needle tatted lace at one

Fun ideas- I agree that thrift shops. Salvation Army and garage/yard sales. If you like new (old lace) there are some beautiful Irish linens shops online . I actually have around 15 yards of a wide 4 inch wide crochet looking cream colored lace that I bought to trim denim jackets with. Still have lots left.

I get a lot of stuff like tis fro antique stores...sometimes really good prices..sometimes high . But usually lots to choose from.

Estate sales, church garage sales, thrift shops (especially the junky ones. Lol!), sometimes free cycle and Craig's list will have something.
Good luck! |
