I have most of the summer off so I will be doing plenty of sewing and cleaning of my sewing room hoping to finish some ufos but will probably just start some new ones.Wondering what is the favourite part of summer for everyone
Me too!!! I just sent my last research paper to my professor and am getting ready for work now. I can not wait until summer. My favorite: the soft warm breezes off the water in the afternoon. Perfect snoozing conditions. My goal is to experiment with FMQ over the summer and use up some fabric!
Thanks for posting this - I needed to think of summer! |
I'm looking forward to winter again because summer is just to much heat for me. i'll be hibernating and up extra early to beat the sun and tending to the garden.

I'm with you Sandra, love the cool/cold weather, although I could do with a bit less snow than we had this past season.
I'm retired, so I have summer all year round. It feels great to not be on a schedule and do whatever I feel like. Sometimes I get up at 4am and start sewing. I borrow the neighbors dogs and go for long walks along the river.
I'm looking forward to moving North for the summer, fishing, working on finishing a hand-quilting I'm doing, entertaining friends and playing with my fur-babies in the water and enjoying the out-of-doors again.

I love summer evenings!!!

I am retired but I still like summer. Texas summers are hot, hot, hot, but I just hibernate during the day and only come out at dusk or early morning hours.

Fresh vegetables, homemade ice-cream, long walks, birds singing.......
Gardening in the early morning. It is semi-arid here so spend the heat of the day inside quilting, reading, occasionally cleaning.
i love watching the plants that are hibernating all winter.
Mltquilt, I see you live in Lewisville. I lived in Coppell for 18 years until I moved to CT last year.
Home grown tomatoes from the garden, watermelon, peaches, long twilights, swimming and boating, walking, so many things to enjoy.

On weekends the kids usually come here to swim. I have a big screened in back porch so I sit out there with a book or some hand sewing. I lay out in the pool during the week when no one is around to splash! Summer means no cooking for me. DH grills enough meats on the weekend so I don't have to cook during the week. We eat salads, fruits and grilled meats. I love to turn the ac down low at night and sleep under a quilt. DH says I freeze him to death and he needs two quilts. LOL
