I love the idea of a lap quilt! I lost my mother to breast cancer a few years ago and now have a good friend fighting it and I would love to make my friend and my sister(in remembrance of my mom) each a quilt but haven't really liked the fabrics I've seen so far. I can't wait to see the new ones this year. Please keep us posted!

kelly i have a copy of the better homes & gardens quilt pink magazine (2007) and many of the quilts in this magazine are not made from pink ribbon or breast cancer fabrics but a variety of pinks, purples, fuschias, blacks, florals, batiks, etc. they are some wonderful quilts. amy butler donated a quilt pattern named pink bliss which was not made in bc fabrics. be creative with your lap quilts and dont limit yourself to breast cancer fabrics. i am making my friend's quilt in seashell fabrics with a coupla pieces of bc fabric intertwined.

have fun with your lap quilts as i am sure the recipients will appreciate your efforts and thoughtfulness.

here is one of the blocks made for my friend's quilt.

The tote bag markets the fabric and the cause and the lap quilt comforts, as well does the pillow. All are wonderful suggestions!

Havplenty, I love the butterfly you made! Very clever and subtle inclusion of the pink ribbon in its body.

I have not put the "preview" fabrics on our website yet, but if anyone wants to see what is available now, here's a link: http://www.favoritefabric.com/cgi/co...on_fabric.html

The new collection will be by Windham, so the colors are similar to this year's "Fight Like a Girl" line: pink, white, and enough black to make it all "pop".

Here is a link to the new "Ribbons of Hope" collection by Windham:

I think they're very pretty... and the butterfly fabric, since it doesn't have any "pink ribbons" in it, would be fine for any project. The darker one would even be nice in a black-and-white quilt!
