looking for information about using barbasol shave creme with paint
I recently went to a local quilt show and they had several booths that were using barbasol shave creme with screen and regular stencils to paint on towels, fabric....etc. Does anyone on here ever done this and can you shed some more light on the process?

Intriguing idea! I went looking for websites and found these:
http://ingridwhitcher.com/marbling-f...ing-cream:7953 http://blip.tv/empress-of-spring/pai...ng-foam-100034 http://suebleiweiss.com/freeprojects/shave.pdf http://www.dharmatrading.com/gifts/s...e-mx-dyes.html http://www.dharmatrading.com/gifts/s...e-mx-dyes.html Looks like they are all demonstrating how to marble fabrics. Suppose you could use stencils also. The shaving cream acts as a suspension medium for whatever coloring agent you use -- food coloring, tempura, acrylic paint, liquid or powdered dye....... |
We did blocks like this at a quilting get together, it was fun!!! Used red and blue and made it into a patriotic quilt for a veteran.
