My son wants me to make him a quilt. I have asked what kind and he responded " I don't Care" So My question is What kind of quilt pattern do I do for a 28 years old? I would like for it to be manly. Please help.

Does he have a favorite sport or sport team?

I've got 3 in the works that are similar to turning twenty (figured out my own sizes of blocks rather than buy the pattern). One is motorcycles/classic cars, one is motorcycles/cars/skeletons, one is tropical stuff, the main fabric is Party Parrots. I showed one to the other son and he loved it. The top went together very quickly.

Happy Hour is another nice pattern. It looks pretty easy too.

Maybe in his favorite color with fabric in all four seasons.

There's a quilt designed by Bill Kerr and Weeks Ringle that was featured in the June 2010 issue of American Patchwork and Quilting Magazine that would be great for a guy. It's called Crossing and looks like this: http://craftnectar.com/2010/04/12/cr...ret-and-susan/

You can get a back issue of the magazine from APQ or a kit of the quilt from FunQuilts (Kerr and Ringle's business name) at http://www.funquilts.com/gallery/patterns/patterns.html

I think it makes it more manly in the darker shades and many patterns would do.

This doesn't help, but when I read your title, I thought "If I wsn't married, I'd be looking for a man pattern too!"

LOL sorry!

If you want something fast and easy with great result, Yellow Brick Road is a great one. I made one with deer, plaid and grass fabric. Hubby LOVES it!!
