someone here has an avatar picture of an abstract modern quilt, done in pink and white.

it's really very beautiful, with shapes that include circles and a rectangle and a straight line or two.

i meant to message them when they posted in a thread, but now my memory has failed and i can't recall which thread it was in.

any thoughts as to how to track this down?

You can go to "My Profile" (upper right corner) and then click on "Threads I have posted in" or something like that...they are the comments you have made on this board. It is on the left side of the profile page.
