I have never seen it before, but that is a super cool pattern! Did you make it? Love the colors. What about calling it an "Exploding Star"?

Awesome photo/quilt, love the scrappy colors.

I love it! I don't know the name either, but someone on etsy was selling the blocks and the listing was called 72 French Braids (confusing because it looks like only 36 are shown in the picture). A picture of one of the blocks is shown in the listing too, and she says it's a 6" block, but you could make it larger too. Other layouts are equally interesting. http://www.etsy.com/listing/73748082...-fabric-blocks

this person also sells on ebay and I have purchased those blocks there beautiful

I can understand why nativetexan is a super member! Who else could find that pattern. I would have no idea what to google!

WOW, that looks like a really great quilt to make. Perhaps it doesn't have a name and you get to pick one!

yes this woman does sell on ebay and she does some beautiful work. if you look at the individual block that was part of her etsy listing it shouldnt be too difficult to duplicate it with your own touch.

Have no idea what the patten is called but love the quilt. Beautiful!!!!

RedGarnet222 04-06-2012 08:48 AM

I also don't know. I have never seen this pattern. But to me all of the points are converging to the middle of the quilt. Like it is a imploding star not exploding. I remember years ago seeing a advertisment for a railway station that looked simular to this. I would think a name like all paths lead to home would be great for it.

Ok - something else to add to the to-do list. It is beautiful and can't wait to try it. I have enough scraps to make about 12 of them. Thanks to all who kindly give their info.
