It is beautiful! We are our own worse critics!!

I'm in agreement with everyone else....looks great to me!!

Ruby2shoes, your work is great. You're being too hard on yourself. What you are seeing are the joining seams. This is popping out to you because of being too hard on your self. Look at the way your seams meet, everything is in line. You have done a wonderful job. Next time you can do the lines in your colored chevrons and then loops in the white or pebbles. But your work is great. Thank you for sharing

Really nice!!

Don't stress over the quilt; it is lovely. After you have a few more quilts under your belt, you will know hos it feels. But, don't EVER be afraid to ask questions or wonder out loud. There are so many knowledgeable people here who can answer your questions or reassure you that you are on the right track. Keep on "quiltin".

Very nice...thanks for sharing.

I think it looks lovely. The reason it is moving and twisting etc. is because most of the quilt is on the bias. It will look fine when you wash it! I love your colors. Blue and white--what could be better than that!?

What u call poofiness, I call texture and dimension. A modern quilt like your ChevRon should have texture to it. It looks great!

Looks great to me. Love your choice of fabric.

Beautiful quilt! Don't be so hard on yourself. I like the look of it. Keep going, happy quilting!

i was wondering this too and agree with your suggestion, although I have not had a problem with SID in one direction when using a walking foot. I would recommend loosening the presser foot pressure and a walking foot.

Forgot to mention, quilt is beautiful and I agree with others that washing will solve everything. Nice thing about this board is that everyone is so helpful and you learn so much here!

Looks good to me! Keep up the good work and keep posting pics. There are no quilt police here. We all learn from each other.

Wish i was as talented as you! Keep it up

Yep, I have sewn in "opposite" directions when making lap quilts but decided not to with this big one as it would mean having a lot more bulk under the machine every alternate row and this would increase as I continued with each row. I opted to sew in the one direction, starting from the middle and working outwards so that I would have less bulk under the machine each time. Have I misunderstood this principle?

Hi! beautiful quilt. Your quilting looks great. I just did one and yours looks better than mine (and I've been quilting 20 years). I like the poofie look. If you use polyester batting it does that. I like it. Cotton batting is flatter. You are doing great.

You are doing a great job. Blessed boy to recieve such a pretty quilt.

Thanks everyone...finished quilting last night, squaring up and making binding today. I'm still not 100% happy with it but the idea of unpicking all the stitching when I am not sure how to improve it is not an option for my soul and sanity! Will put it down to experience and try to improve on the next grandchilds' quilt. Thanks again everyone for the encouragement.
