Hi everyone,
I am looking for a certain pattern I saw on this board. The easiest way for you to see what I am talking about is to go to search, type in the word Sun Bonnett Sue (just like this) and scroll down. Click on the topic "February 1, 2008 - Sunbonnet Sue - Photos. Donna Anne posted a photo of Overall Bill and I just love that pattern. Can anyone help me with finding it or does anyone have it? I have googled with no luck and I also pm'd Donna Anne but haven't received a reply. Thank you for your help! I hope everyone has a wonderful blessed day! Vanessa |

I have a book called "Sunbonnet Family of Quilt Patterns" that includes Overall Sam pattern. (Softcover $32.95) or Hardcover with some paper jacket shelf wear & a couple pages have paper clip wrinkles at top edge $26.95)
Also, have this book that has Overall Sam pattern: Sunbonnet Sue’s Neighborhood by Quilts Made Easy; Oxmoor House, 1996; 48p. Oxmoor house has put together a great book of Sunbonnet Sue and Sam patterns. This 48 page soft cover book gives the instructions for 9 different Sunbonnet quilts. These patterns are all different and make for a great collection. The templates given are very detailed, with seam allowances added. A great book! Patterns include: Sunbonnet ‘n’ Lace 69” x 90” with Sue’s lace-edged bonnet & apron adding three-dimensional touch to the quilt; Fisherman Fred 73” x 94”; Windblown Girl 78 3/8” x 91 ½” with irregular edge; Sunbonnet Sue’s Garden 82” x 91”; Sunbonnet Sue Lives twin size quilt 52” x 73”; Overall Sam 55” x 76”; Rag Dolls 43” x 43”; Indian Girls 68 ½” x 95”; & Umbrella Girl 58 ¼” x 74” embellished with lace, buttons, beads, and other baubles. $9.75 Sunbonnet Family of Quilt Patterns Sunbonnet Sue's Neighborhood $9.75 |

Donna Jean,
Is this specific pattern I am asking for in either of these books? Vanessa |
I just followed your directions to see the picture of the Overall Sam pattern you are looking for. That pattern is in both books I listed. the 1st book has "all" the Sunbonnet kids.
I included a description of what's in the 2nd book. Sunbonnet Sue’s Neighborhood by Quilts Made Easy; Oxmoor House, 1996; 48p. He is so cute! Could you just print out the picture, enlarge it or shrink it and make your own pattern? |
Susie,
Why didn't I think of that? Thank you for the idea and for posting the link. He is cute, isn't he. I think he is the cutest one I have seen so far. I printed it out, now I will start working on enlarging it on the copier. Then I can make my own templates. Vanessa :D |

Oh - I see -- you'rs has his back to you! duh! need my second cuppa coffee!!!!

I found your Sunbonnet Sue on http://www.quilterscache.com
Click on the search bar and a drop down menu will appear - click on "Quilt Blocks Galore - Free Quilt Block Patterns", then scroll down to the middle of the page to the alphabetical list. Click on S-Z and scroll down until you get to Sunbonnet Sue, click on it and there she is! It gives you the pattern, measurements and everything you need to make an 8" block. Page 2 shows a quilt already constructed (just a suggestion, of course). The little farmer boy (he has LOADS of names) was harder to find, but he is at http://www.grandmasattic.com Click on Block of the Month, and it will be one of the quilts on the first page. Click on the image a couple of times and it will enlarge and you can see it is the same one you are looking for, but it is $16.95 a month, which seems pretty expensive to me, and I didn't investigate the site thoroughly enough to find out if you can buy only one block. During my search for you, I found lots and lots of free patterns for adorable little boys wearing overalls, most of them seemingly pretty easy and not too detailed. Unless you really HAVE TO have the one you posted about, maybe you could choose a different one that's more readily available. Good luck! |
Thank you Carol for taking the time to help me like you have. You have some good suggestions.
|
You're welcome! Let us know how you make out.
Carol |
A friend of mine is going to try and draw the pattern for me and will use the picture as a guide. If any of you that read this have the pattern, please let me know.
|
Maybe it would help your friend if you found a little farmer boy from one of the other pattern sites that was close to the one you're looking for. That way perhaps she wouldn't have to change too much. If you found a free pattern that you can print out, it would be even easier.
