Does anyone have the April 2008 issue of Quilters Newsletter magazine, issue #401, I am looking for the pattern called "Kismet". I know I can back order the magazine, but thought I would try here first. I only need the one pattern from the magazine.. :-P

that would be the pdf templates for the paper pieced fern and binding with piping patterns. But it doesn't have the pattern for the skewed stars and how to go about putting them together. Thanks for looking though.

That's a gorgeous pattern! I would hope that you purchase the back issue of QNM (to avoid any copyright issues) and post pics when you have finished the quilt. I just love Escher inspired designs and remember this one well.

i'm sorry that they didn't supply the entire directions. i don't blame you for not wanting to pay premium prices for arhived issues, but that may be the only choice.

was that, in fact, the pattern you were looking for?

Yes, that's the pattern in the April 2008 issue, butterflywing.

susie4, here's the info on ordering back issues of QNM:
Looking for a special issue of Quilters Newsletter? Some back issues are available. To order, call (800) 590-3465. Outside the U.S., call (303) 215-5657. Cost will be determined by the issue cover price, plus shipping and handling based on the number of issues ordered and shipping destination.
(The original cover price was $5.99. Even with shipping and handling, that's cheaper than most patterns purchased online.) Be aware that this is rated as an advanced pattern (machine sewn set in seams).

Have you tried getting the magazine from your local library? Sometimes, they can get it from another library, even out of state.

Tell me what's on the cover of the magazine. Sounds silly but that's how I remember what i have :)

Thanks for all your help ladies, I decided to order the magazine. Hope to do this pattern in the new year.
