A friend and I saw a table runner that was made from just a couple of fabrics, one of which was a border print. It didn't really float my boat, but my friend really liked one of them with. Of course, they didn't have that particular fabric left... :(
Well, now I've found the fabric and would like to give her a runner kit - she loves to sew - but do you think I can find the pattern? I don't know if it was a pattern for sale, or free. It would be pretty easy, I think the fabrics would be sewn cut into strips, sewn together and cut at a particular angle for the ends, which came to a point. It kind made a stripe in the center, then another, and so on. Any idea what I am trying - admitedly not too well - to describe?? |
Could the center pattern be a braid?
Was the pattern in a book or a magazine? |
No, the center wasn't a braid.
I didn't actually see the pattern, which is why I don't know if the pattern was free or for sale. It was one of the things that was demonstrated at a retreat we were at, after the demonstration all that went to it were invited to show their finished runner. I do remember that they were encouraged to buy a 60 degree angle ruler, but that it could be done using the angle line that is on most quilting rulers. |
