Looking for this pattern
I am looking for this pattern so my granddaughter can make it and enter it in our State Fair. I have looked everywhere I know and found a lot about it but can't find directions or where I might buy it.

If you can't find the pattern, I would draft it out on graph paper. The center is made from simple squares and triangles.

ITA with Tartan, that you should be able to draft it out on graph paper.
It would be a good experience for your DGD too. How about contacting the blogger who posted it? I'd also look around the McCall's website, as I believe they have a Panda. If not, there are lots of other block-like animals. Another place for block animals is Quilters Cache. If there's not a Panda, at least you will get the idea as to how to create your pattern. Of course, maybe you aren't stuck on the Panda ... rather just the block technique? |
You could modify the brown bear at this site to be a black and white panda and add pinwheels around the borders:
http://www.countedquilts.com/ They also have a panda but it is more complicated with leaves, but lots of cute animals to choose from. Good luck to your granddaughter. |
If you read the original blog she says she drew it out for the one quilt and threw away the measurements when she was cleaning out her room. However there is a close up of the face that would really help you.
