looking for a pattern

I've purchased a new round dining table and want a round centerpiece. All the patterns I find are for rectangular tables. Anyone know of a good pattern?

lynnie 04-26-2015 06:33 PM

how about the hex one where you sew strips together and cut them into triangles and sew them back together. search hex table topper, I know about 3 yrs ago, everyone was making them or google or bing round table toppers and hopefully something you want will pop up.

Look for a copy of Cheryl Phillips Quilts without Corners or look for a hexagon or octagon table topper. You can also look at Cheryl's site at www.phillipsfiberart.com/

If it does'nt have to pieced, a beautifully quilted whole clothe would be stunning.

I saw something in the new Annie's catalog that might work. Also I got this pattern for Xmas called Sticks and Stones. It is an easy pattern and you can make it to fit your table.

Here is one: https://www.anniescatalog.com/list.h...Topper+Pattern
Can't find the one I was looking for. But if you google table topper patterns you will come up with many, and some more square that could be converted.

Nancy's Notions Spring catalog has a beautiful Dresden table topper and I bought a lovely flower shape kit from Connecting Threads a few months back.

I have a round table also, 48 inches and make square ones to go on my table. Usually 54-60 inches wide. Ii have made one for spring, fall, Christmas, watermelon for summer and several generic ones for the rest of the year. I really like how they look, but we do not eat on them, I remove them.

How about a mariner's compass?

I believe Quilt in a day also has a round pattern.

this one uses a 60* triangle. you could even make it bigger by doing another round.

This site has quite a few Free patterns for table toppers that would suit a round table. I've saved a couple and will have a go for my own round table which is 4'6" across.

this is a spiral table topper that I did. Cheryl Phyllips has great patterns

Marti Michele has templates for a large dahlia quilt. It would be beautiful on a round table.

I have made the Strata Star pattern and it will fit for a round table. The finished table topper is quite impressive.

tree skirt patterns would be a good place to start, they don't have to be red and green :)
judy niemeyer/quiltworx has some awesome ones.

Very beautiful table topper. Great job! Could you please share the pattern name and size please. I really love this so much! Thanks.

You could also make a giant Dresden plate. Sewing with Nancy has templates, or you could make your own. If you have EQ software you can print it any size. Select templates for printing option, choose a block size, and delete all the templates except the circle and blade.

Here is link to view SWN episode. I think there are two episodes on Dresden Plates.

You can also use a string, taped down in the middle of your table and swing the other end, with a pen attached, to trace the size circle you need.

I really enjoyed those episodes on Sewing with Nancy. I had just gotten my Dresden plate rulers. And made my first one on a table topper.I us my Embroidery Machine a lot and use it with my quilting. I have a lot of embroidered coasters and use one of those for the center. I am looking for directions on how to line the Dresden Plate to use it for Placemats and tabletoppers.Anybody have any ideas. MINE ARE THE EASY PONTED ONES

Try putting something square on a round table. It adds interest.
