It is a basic 9 patch block. It would be easy enough to graph. Pretty use of colour.

Looks like it's made up of squares and half-square-triangles. Shouldn't be too hard to replicate.
Cool pattern! Good luck! |
I have no idea what the name of this quilt would be but you could figure this out on your own if you would like to make it. The quilt is made up of individual blocks each of which contain nine squares of fabric. Each nine-square block contains four white squares, three colored squares and two squares which are made up of white and one other color with the colors separated diagonally. Each nine-square block is turned in a direction to give you the pattern in the quilt. With a little experimentation and calculation you should be able to figure out the block and how much of each fabric you would need to complete the quilt. My explanation may not be very good but hopefully you can figure this out if you look at each block within the quilt instead of looking at the quilt as a whole. Hopefully someone will come forward with a pattern name but if not you might try to create your own. Good luck!!

I drew it up in EQ as a 9 inch block. It is the same block in different colors and just turned differently.
Edited to add: EQ estimated the quilt yardage as Beige Background - 3 3/4 yards Dark Blue - 5/8th yard Red - 1 1/2 yards Gray - 1 yd I have never bought fabric based on the EQ estimates. It should be fairly accurate. |
Thank you Barb in Louisiana.
This helps a lot. |
That would be beautiful made with scrappy 2.5" squares! Thank you Barb for the illustration. I'm saving it.

Glad I could help. EQ is a great tool and forces you to understand the blocks in a quilt. It does not tell you how to sew a block but just lets you design it. Enjoy!

Barb, your sample block looks like a bat, cute. You are so kind to create with the EQ program and share the information with the board members. This pattern is really neat using the same block across the quilt.
Thank you, have it bookmarked for later use. |
