It kind of reminds me of how Kaye Wood puts together her hexagon blocks.

Looks like an Ohio Star with the cornors cut in half.

It is awfully cute!

I don't think the center has prarie points, it looks like a fussy cut star with the triangles set in...
You could make the block, and fuse the fussy cut star in the center  What a pretty and unique looking block :D:D:D |
love the block, I hope someone can give us the name of this pattern
|
where did you find this picture of this block, maybe they can help you

the person that had it said they were not attached down just folded and then sewed in (that's why i thought prairie points) she didn't know where it came from..

OH!!! So the center was cut as an octagon, and the tan triangles are prairie points!!! looking now? I can see that plain as day
What a very clever idea!!! :D:D:D |
It looks like to block in the Sip 'n Sew book by Diane Dhein. I does kind of look like prarie points but is actually a really easy block to make. I have also seen it as the main block on Amish totes and purses. She calls itThe Island star block. I have the book. PM me.

Here is a link to Kaye's pattern. It is using her 'View and Do' and 'Starmaker' rulers. They look hard but are very easy!
