I purchase a Sphynx treadle sewing machine...127? I think the presser bar is froze up on it so it won't move the presser foot up and done. My husband at the moment is trying to soak it in something at the moment. If he can't unfreeze it I was wondering how to obtain a new bar for my machine? Thanks!

Don't give up, someone probably used the wrong type of oil to oil it. Heat it with a hairdryer and then work it up and down. I have used a piece of rubber (inner tube or drawer liner) to protect the metal, and clamped vise grip pliers onto the presser bar, and then tapped the pliers with a hammer. It will come loose, then clean it up good with kerosene or WD40 and a soft brush or cloth.

I don't think you need a new presser foot bar, patience will prevail....follow Emmah's good advice and I'm betting you win! :)
