I will be going on vacation in June to Maggie Valley North Carolina and also to Pigeon Forge Tennessee. Does anyone have any great quilt shops they know of that I could visit in the area

If you go east on 40 about 20-25 minutes past asheville there was a very cool store right off the highway. cant remember the name of it but i ALWAYS stopped there when traveling through in the 90's!

I'm not sure how far MaryJo's in Gastonia is from there (Southwest of Charlotte), but it is definitely worth a shop. It's not just a LQS but a 30000 sq ft store!

It is a long way from Gastonia to Maggie Valley. There is a neat quilt shop in Maggie Valley, I think the name is Quilters Heaven, it is on the right just before Maggie Valley.
Pigeon Forge has a couple quilt shops The Cherry Pit is in town. I can't remember the name of the other shop I like this one. Check the local phone book for the name. You will like both shop. Have fun.

If you head into Asheville, there are several.

As far as quilt shops there is Asheville Cotton Co. If you head a little farther away, Marti's Patchwork Cottage is a cute little shop in downtown Black Mountain.

Foam & Fabrics and House of Fabric both carry a decent collection of quilting fabrics too.

Asheville Cotton Co., Foam & Fabrics, and House of Fabric are all on the same road, spread out by several miles, and the road changes names several times.
