Scalloped Borders

I have Eleanor Burns Scallop Border Ruler and Eleanors Directions are always very easy to read.

I used the ruler, but my side wasn't an easily divisible number...I really like the idea of folding the freezer paper to get equal scallops. I will have to try that next time! I did really enjoy the process though. I ended up quilting the border in a waffle weave pattern that looked great with the scallops.

Thank you all for the links, tips, and photos. Such lovely and inspiring examples. I think I will look into the ruler. Initially I didn't want to invest in it, as I don't think scallops will be a frequently used treatment on my projects, but it looks like it makes the whole process so easy and quick. We're working against a deadline here, so that quick part, with minimal fussing and trial and error, is key.

Again, thanks everyone for your helpful input.

Love the folded paper idea for getting even scallops!! I have a tulip quilt that I was wondering how to get the scallops even, now I know. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
