Looking for a Scrap squares chart
 

I've cut some donated scraps into squares. Now I have a whole lot of fabric squares and I want to simply sew them together to make charity quilts.
Somewhere I have seen a chart that tells me what size squares will fit to larger squares.
That is to say a 4 patch of x size will fit with a solid x size block. Or, a 4x4 patch will fit a 2x2 block, etc.
I could do the math but math just makes my brain hurt, and I'm usually wrong ending with a waste of fabric and leftover squares that fit nothing.
Is anyone aware of such a chart?

Thank you, I got my response. My husband the math wizard (I'm the speller, he is the mathematician) came along at just the right time and helped me figure out a chart I could use. I hope this helps someone, so for your edification or just in case you were interested, here is the chart:
4x4 of this size will fit a square of this size:
2.5 4.5
3 5.5
3.5 6.5
4 7.5
4.5 8.5
5 9.5
5.5 9.5
6 11.5
6.5 12.5
7 13.5
7.5 13.5
8 15.5
8.5 16.5

I think your 5.5 would make a 10.5. But it’s a great chart. Tell your hubby Well Done! :0) ! I think one if the others also has a misprint. It seems his formula is to double the first number and subtract .5” to get the second number.

The 7.5 would make a 14.5.

Yes. It is my math and my typing errors! This is why I needed help.
The formula is to double the first and subtract 1/2 inch.
It works and I'm almost ready to put together a king size charity quilt from only oddball scraps.
