Looking for silk screens; please help
 

Hi, I went to the Raleigh sewing/quilt show this past weekend and we dyed silk fabric and did silk screening and I'm hooked. I can afford and already have the paint but trying to find a place to get the silk screens (not really silk any more). If you know of any site that sells them could you let me know. I'm so excited to add this to my sewing/quilting/embroidery skills. Thank you so much.

You can also make your own screens very easily using an empty frame and some sheer fabric. Here's just one website that shows you how. There are lots more, some with videos.

This is fantastic. My friend and I had so much fun. One 8 x 10 sheet that only had on or two designs were $28. To say the least I didn't get any but I got the bug so I have to persue this. Thank you so muc. I'll check them both out.

When I looked up their silk screen stuff, they were selling a small screen creator product, looked like a small GOCCO, but much, much cheaper.

you can make your own "screens" using old sheer curtains, some canvas stretching bars, and large thumb tacks or binding clips to stretch the fabric over the bars.

When I went to class I was amazed at at what we did. I could afford to buy the screens there but still wanted to do them. Now since I've been looking and seeing how you can make your own in lots of ways and all of the different things out there to help gets me even more excited. I might have to take over my spare room that's next to my sewing room just for this at this rate.
