Looking for table runner pattern (valentine)

I want to make a table runner for valentines day out of the scraps I have. Any suggestions? Thanks

They had a cute tutorial on Moda Bakeshop the other day called Hearts Galore - not from scraps, but you could improvise. I saved this one for my files! I don't know how to make this link "live" so you will have to copy and paste! Meghan

Missouri star quilters had a great one. I made a bunch od blocks from scraps last weekend & will put them together this weekend. I am making table runners & a wall hanging from the blocks.

Theres a really cute pieced heart pattern on Quilters Cache. I think it was a 12 in. block

Look up a premative heart pattern. Very simple and each heart could be a different fabric.

Cute pattern, Cinnya.... Where did you find this one?

cinnya 01-21-2012 06:08 AM

I found the picture on Pinterest.
this is the blog http://myquiltdiary.blogspot.com/
I am making a draft of it as I type. :)It is really simple, just squares and a few hst and some applique.I am trying to figure out what size to make the squares, because I have a really big table.I am also trying to see what it would look like as a square table topper with 4 hearts.........I love to do this, find something i like and put my own spin on it :)

I would not know how to begin to give instructions..lol
I just look at the picture, break it down by components and draw it on graph paper. from there I decide what size the squares and hst need to be. here is my rough draft. colored pencils can be your friend:o
I tried to send this to you in a PM but it would not let me upload the pic.
you could cut out the squares at 2.5 (finished 2") and it would give you a runner about 20/46
I be glad to help you along anytime

bumping it for ""oh munner""
I don't have this pattern just a picture. I made my own graph .
The piecing is done, I decided to make it square , it looks better on my table. No the applique starts :)

Do you have more detailed directions for this Valentine table runner?

RedGarnet222 12-04-2012 11:01 AM

I had a gal send me some hearts (for charity) she had simply just cut them out after she had sewn a bunch of random pink square scraps together. I stabilized them by sewing a light-weight interfacing to the heart (rst). After carefully slitting the middle of the interfacing, I then turned them right side out pressed them and appliqued them onto squares with a simple hem stitch to the edges. They turned out really nice! I will find the link to the runner I made with them for the auction.

Here is the link...
