Looking For Tartan Fabric

Hi, My sister is celebrating her 50th birthday this summer, and, being as she is a big Outlander fan, I’d like to make her wall hanging. I doubt I’d have time to make her a quilt.

I’ve searched for some Fraser tartan, and although there is plenty to be found on the net, the actual pattern is too large and gets lost for the small bits of their clothing in appliqué and a border.

Does anyone (preferably in the UK to begin with) know an online shop where I might be able to purchase some miniature Fraser Tartan?

Failing that, is there a printable site that has an accurate tartan that I could print onto fabric?

Thanks in advance and any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you for the link. Much appreciated.
I’ll take another look and hopefully, will be able to get this project underway.

You could also size a tartan fabric to the right size and print it onto fabric yourself. I personally prefer the EQ Printables for the quality... if you need more info, please PM me.

I really like your idea. Purchasing the proper Fraser tartan to size for print is a great solution, it would also be the answer to the borders, if the fabric isn’t too thick.

Thank you, much appreciated.

Thank you, Jan. Much appreciated.
What a great site, I think I’ll have to keep that one bookmarked.

I am betting you can find this in a mans shirt at a thrift or second hand shop in your area. Look for 100% cotton in the large sizes. Long sleeved also. Good hunting!

When you do the search QuiltnNan suggested, add “Fraser” tartan in the words to make it more accurately what you want to find.

this site has the fraser tartan, both modern and "ancient". they have it by the yard, but the swatch, fat quarter, etc. it's combed cotton. if nothing else, it would be lovely to include a piece on the backing of the wall hanging. https://www.zazzle.com/clan_fraser_a...47511416666602
